Three year old Harsh lives in the Ambedkar Nagar slum community at Colaba. His father, Rupesh, works as a supervisor and his mother, Chandan, is a housewife. Harsh is an only child. The family is poor and struggles to make both ends meet, and they find it very difficult to cope with medical emergencies. Despite their poor economic condition, Harsh’s parents realize the value of a good education, and ensure that he goes to Sahaara’s balwadi every day.
Sahaara’s balwadi has a systematic curriculum wherein children are equipped in the following subjects over the period of a year: English and Hindi: alphabets and poems, writing skills, general knowledge (colours, animals, flowers, personal hygiene etc), colouring, games and activities such as counting and recognition.
Harsh is a live wire who is energetic and lively in class! He has a bombastic personality. He is very expressive and very cheerful. He enjoys reading and writing exercises. He is sociable and loves sharing his toys with other children.
Thanks to your generous donation, Purnima, Harsh would be able to attend school for an entire year.
Thank you for supporting Harsh!
